What is galvanized steel strip?
Galvanized steel is a zinc-iron alloy product, where the base metal is coated by the hot-dip process, then heated to induce alloying between the molten zinc coating and the steel. What is strip in sheet metal?
Strip refers to steel and non-ferrous products that are rolled into coils, for example, hot-rolled strip, which is used as primary material for cold-rolled sheets. Hot-rolled strip is produced in thicknesses up to approximately 15 mm and in widths up to approximately 2,200 mm.
How is strip steel made?
Strip steels are manufactured by hot rolling to thicknesses not less than 2 mm, and then finally cold rolled to the required final thickness. Since cold forming (e.g. by deep drawing, stretch forming or bending) is a widely used application for low-carbon strip steels, a final recrystallization anneal is applied.
What is the difference between sheet and strip?
